When my father Sid Sacks founded the Sidney Sacks Agency in 1936, the landscape in Montgomery County Pa. looked different than it does today, but our values remain the same. Sid grew up on a farm in Cedars, Pa., where he learned the value of hard work and honest pay. People still remember Sid as a gifted baseball player as well as a man of integrity. He also had an unforgettable sense of humor.
The Sacks Country Store, owned and operated by my grandfather Benjamin Sacks and the Sacks family, was a focal point of life in this close-knit rural community. Uncle Izzy ran the store and Uncle Joe was the postmaster. Everybody in the community knew the Sacks family's reputation for integrity and hard work.
When I came to work with my dad in 1975, we had a staff of four people in a little office on Swede Street in Norristown, near the Courthouse. Today, our volume has increased 20 times, and we employ over 15 people in two offices, East Norriton and Easton. We are proud of our friendly and competent staff of insurance professionals.
The Easton office is headed up by John Bisco, along with his very capable wife Kathie Bisco. If you call with a personal lines question, you'll talk to Kathie or a member of her staff. John is a man of many talents, a strong producer of Property Casualty as well as Life Insurance, Financial Planning and Investments. He also continues Sid's tradition as a gifted baseball player.
In 2004, we merged with the Sorella Agency. Another family business, the Sorella Agency brought with them years of experience in the area, as well as new insurance markets and expertise. Denise Berardini, CIC, has served on the Board of several local organizations. Karen Trifiletti, personal lines manager, has been working with personal lines for over 20 years.
